BEN HAGARI: ABOUT FACE

September 1 - 30, 2020
10 Times Square Billboard, South East Corner of 41st Street and 7th Avenue

PRESENTED BY ZAZ CORNER “IN BETWEEN”

The exhibition is made of a series of short videos, 15 seconds each, that present a protagonist shown only from the back - his face has been erased as well and his head has been shaved. His attire is worn front side back and his movements are reversed. Each video presents a scenario that results in a binary structure: backward and forward, front and rear, serious and funny.

The character, constrained by limited expression and space, is navigating daily routines. This faceless protagonist found new relevance with everyone around wearing masks, concealing their faces and inevitably their facial expressions.
