Rona Yefman
Rona Yefman is a New York City-based artist working in photography, video, and installation. Her work explores social, political, and personal issues of identity through a range of human experiences, often collaborating with individuals who embody radical personas that reflect the iconic and absurd elements of our time. She earned her MFA from Columbia University in New York City in 2009 and continues to serve as a mentor in the graduate program of the MFA Visual Arts at Columbia University School of the Arts.

Rona Yefman returns to the ZAZcorner billboard in Times Square in 2026 as artist and mentor, once again collaborating with students from the MFA Visual Arts program at Columbia University School of the Arts. This year, presenting INTERMISSION, the MFA-created videos explore intimacy, ephemerality, resistance, and cultural erosion.

During Mentor Week, guided by Rona Yefman, MFA Visual Arts students from Columbia University School of the Arts created moving-image works for the ZAZcorner billboard in Times Square. Appearing between advertisements, the works ask, “Can art make a difference?” and offer brief moments of reflection within the city’s commercial landscape.
